Background – Bay Ridge Well
The Bay Ridge Well Project was designed to provide a new production well and well house to improve system performance and integration in the Lexington Park service area. The design was awarded and completed by Whitman Requardt & Associates (WRA) to replace the failed well at the Great Mills Center. The new well will draw from the Patapsco Aquifer and have an estimated yield of 700 gallons per minute. Site work will include a driveway, stormwater management, fence, diesel generator, and appurtenances.
Project Scope of Work
This project will drill between 700 and 1200 feet below the earth’s surface to install a new well which will draw from the Patapsco Aquifer. The well will have a cement lined 20-inch outer black steel casing and will surround an 8” stainless steel column pipe reaching down to the well pump. The well will discharge to a new 400 square foot pump station including pump controls, disinfection system, telemetry equipment, and controls integration. Site work will include an asphalt driveway, generator pad, exterior fence, and MDE approved rain garden for stormwater management.
